Three of Swords

© 2015 Carmen Waterman Three of SwordsFrom Adversity to Triumph

Today’s card is for someone special who drew this card the other day. The Three of Swords is a time for growth and expression. A deep and profound connection of mind, body, and heart. The champion in this card is sitting thoughtfully reflecting on the turn of events that have brought her to this place. Not merely in the physical sense but also those things in her past that have led her to the thoughts and feelings that seem so difficult to let go of. With the moon shining and the shoreline behind her, she is trying to put these things to rest and yet they continue to surface.

The Three of Swords presents a message of inner deliberation and soul searching. One may find oneself in a position where there has been a betrayal or hurtful things that have been said. There are times we find ourselves weary and disturbed by the actions and words of others. The Three of Swords is indicative of the need to resolve within ourselves the events that led us to this juncture. It may seem impossible to let go of old hurts and past actions that seem to run over and over in our minds. Thoughts that relentlessly repeat the suffering and damage.

The Three of Swords is here to let you know that you are the one that can change this. You can take up the sword and cut the ties to things that no longer serve you. While there may be deep and nostalgic emotions attached to the present situation, you have the ability to see your attachment to it. You are in a position to move on, to grow and express yourself clearly without prejudice and with an open mind and perspective. You are so much stronger now, you have continued to grow and it is time to step forward and not be held back by the actions or words of others. They do not define you.

Thank you – I think I am starting to see how I have changed and moved beyond the present situation. It still makes me sad to see others still in that place, but I know I can rise above it with time and self-compassion.

    I love you
