The card I drew today was The Hermit who comes quietly into our lives to show us the way of inner reflection and wisdom. It heralds a time of letting go of social activity and just being present in the moment with yourself, away from external distractions.
This card brings with it an invitation to focus more on your inner world, thoughts, beliefs and needs. In order to connect with your own inner voice and intuition you need to be still. You need a place of quiet without constant interruptions or the daily busyness of noise and activity.
For some of us the Hermit is a connection to our own innate preference for introversion. Carl Jung’s original studies and work identified a natural or inborn disposition that people have with how they prefer to interact with the outside world and how they gain their energy. Introverts focus on the inner world of possibilities and gain their energy from opportunities for solitude and quiet. They are worn down by crowds and noise. Their inward focus allows them to see endless options, and new ideas, easily identifying potential solutions that others may not consider.
For me The Hermit is very much one of my soul cards. While I am much more than an introvert there is real truth to the fact that I am energized by peaceful retreats and quite times when I can let my mind and heart wander into the realms of “what could be.” This card comes up for me at times when it is really important for me to take some time to recharge and reconnect.
I’ve had a tough time lately for there seems to be so much to do, so many things that I can get distracted with and then also life has, as it does for so many of us, thrown some real challenges in my path that have made me really need to sit up and take notice, not to mention taken me off-track from some important goals and deadlines. I know that I need to withdraw and complete something that has been core to my present journey and the only way I will be able to do this is by being resolute and focused. I also know that for my own spirit I need to make time to meditate and connect with my cards, my writing and my artwork.
I am thankful for my connection to The Hermit, his wisdom and permission to take the time I need. May your guides help you to find what you need most in this very moment!
Brightest Blessings
Jane
