When the Temperance card comes into your life it is an indication that you are or need to focus on bringing balance into your life. It encourages you to take time for inner reflection and examination. Self-awareness is a critical step in understanding yourself and others as well as how you interact with the world. Temperance quietly sweeps in with messages of acceptance and appreciation. Connecting light and dark and unifying the multiplicity of our own selves.
There may be times in our lives when we find it difficult to accept all of who we are, what we want and desire. When we deny aspects of our own nature we cannot be whole. Feelings that there is something missing are common in today’s society. People are so busy trying to do what is expected, to perform, to succeed, to live up to others expectations that we become lost.
Earlier this week Jenna Matlin posted an amazing song by Rhianna and asked the question “If this was a tarot spread what would the message be?”
Well it reminded me of how much a particular song that I love was perfect for the meaning I had in mind when I created the Temperance card of the Major Arcana. It is called “Bring on the Wonder” by Sarah McLachlan and you can hear it on YouTube. Check it out and you’ll see what I mean.
